NECTAR AND PULSE - officially cool
Over the last years - me being a frequent traveller, I have always went to visit cities where I have had contacts or friends, because I really felt like to visit a city without an insider was very dull. The creative minds of Nectar and Pulse have come to the same conclusion and I love them for that. Check out their website if you want to find your CITY SOULMATE in different cities around the world. I am so happy about this new website discovery, really.

Designed by the Athens-based Sotovikis and located on the third floor of a neo-classical building, Il Buco has views of the Acropolis. The restaurant consists of three separate spaces clustered around the cocktail bar.

VIENNA
Neni
In the middle of Naschmarkt - an open air market in the middle of Vienna, there is this super cosy place called NENI. You can sit outside on a sunny day or enjoy the warm/cosy/laid back atmosphere inside, also on the second floor. The kitchen is very israely, but I ate corn soup with coconut milk and it was very nice and filling. A perfect place for an afternoon lunch.

MAK restaurant
Watch out for those hidden away musuem restaurants, as they are damn fun and usually have good food. I found another of these in the MAK museum in Vienna. Go for the parsley cream soup and the quail as from the picture above. Really nice food and the interior is to absorb as well. Definately to go back during the summer as they also have a garden.
TOKYO
Kohta Yoshioka patisserie
Unfortunately everything on the website is written in Japanese, but I am sure that you can dig up the info from locals if you are wondering to visit this place. Cute, no?
Dans Dix Ans
Let us call this place a design bakery, as also this is an upcoming trend all around the world. I will try to find more pictures and more info to add. Promise.
Bills
The restaurant owner is an Australian chef Bill Granger. Apparently this place is best known for its amazing breakfast and brunch. The main menu is Italian cuisine influenced and while dining in this place you also have an amazing view of the the Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Bay.
RIGA
Riija
Lifestyle and design concept store RIJA in the center of Riga is a true discovery. Truly many great accessories for home, all hand made, with local materials and a local touch. I could have bought nearly the whole store. All the pieces are not cheap but I think the prices are worth each objects work and quality. To visit

Innocent coffee masters
I think for many of the locals this place has become like the second home - from breakfast till dinner and even brunch on the weekends. Always serving home like local dishes which make you feel even more like you have come to visit a friend. And my dear friend Ingemars always welcomes me with his big smile and a beary hug, which makes me feel always more welcome and at home.

OSLO
Solsiden
So, if you are a fish lover, then the next time you are in Oslo you have to definately visit this restaurant. I advise you call them before your arrival in the city, as the restaurant is always booked out way before. If you are not local, you just might miss it, as it is hidden in one of the silent corners of the harbour, but when you are there it is just you, the sea and the amazing fish dishes.Go for all the fresh ones. You have to try it out.
ROME
Salotto42
Your next stop in Rome for a morning coffee, a Swedish type lunch (one of the owners a Swedish model) or an evening happy hour drink. Your choice! To see!
Mia Market
Their moto is - a fruit vender in your living room. Think about it? The only part which is not clear to me is also their website on which you can find all types of cool things for your home, always in the type of MIA MARKET style. Well, to clear things out, I think all my roads will soon lead to Rome .... to Via Panisperna 225.

Tricolore
So next time when you are in Rome, I think this is a place worth to visit. As they call them themselves - a food design laborotory. But I will add their italian text right below, because it says everything. And to be honest, I am too lazy to translate, but if your italian is as my chinese, give me a shout and I will help you out.

PARIS
Septime
Merci
Merci is a concept store I ran across last time while being in Paris. I think it had 3 open floors, so it is quite spacious. It has a little bit of everything - from interior design products to special presentation every now and then of cool products. Do not miss one of those if you are in Milan. They are really interesting. Of course when you are done peeking around in the store, you can sit down at the cafe' with loads of books and a view into the silent courtyard.
L'HOTEL de VENDOME
If you are a fan of the afternoon coffee with a small treat for the sweet tooth then this is the place to visit next time in Paris - the restaurant of l'Hotel de Vendome for a luxury afternoon coffee experience. Not only you will have a selection of some of the worlds best coffies, but also mouth-watering pastries right there. Who would wanna miss that?

Brunch Bazaar
If you are looking for a bit more of a creative brunch on a lazy Sunday then the BRUNCH BAZAR at Comptoir General in Paris is the place to be. On the first Sunday of every month you can visit this community gathering with a vintage market and all kind of eco mind orientated activities. Definately a place to visit next time in Paris - and hoping it falls into the first Sunday of the month. Ouch!

NEW YORK
I love it when something old can be turned into something new. It is a bit like vintage, no? It has been a great idea to turn an old, non functioning railway in the Meatpacking district of NYC, into a public sky park. I think these things give the inhabitants of the city new inspiration and new energy. Very neat.
MILANO
Al Mercato
If you are one of those that can not choose whether to go out for dinner to one place or the other, then ''Al Mercato'' is the perfect place for you. Chic or chilled out? Restaurant or burger bar? It is up to you. But I am sure that the fantastic chefs Beniamino Nespor and Eugenio Roncoroni will make your mouth tingle with the bouquet of unusual tastes only they know how to create in a traditional dish. Have fun!

The Small
Pane e Acqua
So me personally I have not visited this restaurant yet, so I do not have so many things to say about this place. But I have always appreciated its interior and that is one of the reasons it has created curiosity in me to go. It is quite off the busy streets of Milan in Via Matteo Bandello, 14 . It is right next to the gallery or Rossana Orlandi and the interior is actually created in an old tabaccheria with the help of Paola Navone. I will let you know how it goes when I go :)
Petit
A very cute little place hidden away from the busy traffic of Milan. It is always quite dark in there and you can not miss the candle light, which gives a warm and cosy feeling. The menu has a little bit of everything. Even tho you would expect a French cuisine there is a mix of French, Asian, Italian - fusion let us call it. Always busy and always full, and let us say that the later you have dinner there, the more fun it gets. Check out more on their website>

Santeria
So, totally off the busy streets of Milan, in a hidden courtyard you can find Santeria. I visited their little goodie shop and the bar, where you can also have brunch on Sundays. It has a nice outside terrace as well so really nice for tranquil evening apperitivos during the summer. The cocktails are served in jars, like the one you see in the photo.
Best to arrive there on your bike, as it is a bit far from various transportation. They also have loads of events. Check out more on their website

Ratana'
Located in an old railway station building, the Ratana' brings you a solid Milanese traditional cuisine reinterpreted for todays needy client. The tradition comes through not only in the food but in the interior as well - metal is one of the main materials used for decorative and functional details, just like in an old railway station.

Erba Brusca
How come I did not know about this place before? It is so cute with its outside garden and chilled atmosphere. A perfect place for a relaxing glass of wine on a Sunday afternoon under the setting sun. Can not wait to go check it out as soon as possible. Plus they have their own veggie garden where they grow their own goodies. Amazing.

CORSO COMO 10
I know, I know - some of the locals reading my blog will say - oh its so old, who goes to Corso Como 10 anymore. But I do! And often! Well, everytime I am looking for new ideas and creative relaxation. For those who do not know what Corso Como 10 is, I tell you - it is one of the most famous concept stores in the world. Here you kind find a great selection of things going from fashion(obviously) reaching out to Scandinavian desing objects and latest beauty product must haves. So here you will find a shop, restaurant/bar, book shop/music shop, a gallery, 3 room hotel and the roof top terrace, which often serves real nice on a sunny day for some thought gathering. There is a lot more to it to the story, but I will leave it to ya to discover.

Tizzys
After a party weekend, what else can be more satisfying than a good burger. The owner Tizzy Beck has brought a piece of NYC to Milan and I adore her for that. On the canal of Naviglio grande, go discover Tizzys for a take away coffee, for a hangover burger or for just chillin with excellent choice of background music and the newest fashion magazines. Thank God this place is close to my place. I feel One step closer to New York :)
Ubarba
A bit off the busy streets of Milan, you can find the restaurant UBARBA. What I like about this place is that the menu is not the usual that you find all over Milan, but it is with a twist. The rabbit with mashed potatoes was FABOLOUS. And the interior is to value as well. A type of vintage / factory style with a suttle illumination that gives a warm, cosy feeling. The only problem - NO AMARO! But even though I will go back to visit the place again.

Armani Hotel Milano
Well well well, the long waited Armani Hotel Milano has been launched. With 95 rooms, 2 skyline floors with restaurant, bar and a SPA I am sure this place will become the new meeting point and attraction of the crowds of Milano. Hmm I would not mind the SPA experience ?!. Let me see if my visit to the hotel will convince me. I will keep you updated.
DADA meeting point
A new concept store in one of the most busiest aries of Milan. In Via Gian Giacomo Mora 12, you can find an amazing selection of upcoming talents from all over the world. This time it is not only about fashion but also about art and design. The chief buyer Licia Bonesi has an amazing eye for cool, so if you are looking even for great presents, this is the place to find something sincerly special. Like for example these fantastic paper eyelashes.

Wait and see
A new type of shopping experience in Via Santa Marta 14. A mix of stationary objects to bijoux, books, clothing and accessories. Here you can find a mix of brands never seen before in the city. There is an existing rule within the various collections - nothing should cost over 1000eiro. Hmm...I do not know if I like this rule, but I will accept it as a particular touch of differentation.

COPENHAGEN
Louisiana museum of Modern Art
This is one of my favourite places in the world. Every time I am in Copenhagen, I always try to go there. They have an amazing selection of exhibitions, but there are no words to explain the peace and calmness which is in the air. After a fulfilling visit to the museum, you can enjoy a big cup of Latte Machiatto at their restaurant while enjoying the coast view. Very ZEN. Check out there site for future exhibitions www.louisiana.dk
IBIZA
Sluiz - creative shopping
In a type of hangar space with an internal garden one can find a some what messy cool atmosphere. Everything seems out of place but works together at the same time. There is a part that sells pieces for interior, there is a coffee shop, dj set, clothing with particular fashion accessories. Very Ibiza style. Can not wait for their online shop to start selecting cool pieces for my home...Definately a place to visit while in Ibiza, for a creative shopping experience.
PACHA Destino
Hey there everybody. I am back. I do not know how long I will stay but I will try. Have been very busy doing some massive life changes but I will try to add a post everyday to keep this car rolling.
We are in october and here I am back with summer memories - Pacha Destino - hotel, pool, restaurant, bar and party place. My favourite time of the day 7ish for a drink before dinner to watch the sun set behind Ibiza town and then leave. The last picture here is exactly the best place where to enjoy Pacha Destino and the view of Ibiza. Have you found your Destino? ;)
